First Training Run!

The Windward Iditarod dogs went out on their first real training run of the season, last week. We did a few miles out on the tidal flats, in Dyea, where we run our tours. They are looking great and now that the weather is cooling off, they are sensing that fall training is swiftly approaching. We are down to 20 days until the end of tour season!
Matt and I went hiking with Chuck (our german shorthair pointer), up to a two places called Upper Dewey and Devil's Punchbowl. It was gorgeous. We went up for the opening of black bear season, but we didn't see anything. Here are some pictures of the beautiful scenery, and the little cabin we stayed in. And of course, Chuck!
